Won-Buddhism teaches us Gratitude, just as Christianity teaches Love and Buddhism teaches Compassion. Being grateful every moment is an essential part of the faith. Threefold Practice is key to cultivating one's inner power. In 1916, after years of searching, Sotaesan experienced a Great Awakening of Truth of Ilwonsang and founded Won-Buddhism with the proclamation: Since the material power is unfolding, let¡®s unfold the spiritual power.¡¡

- Ilwonsang symbolizes the natural state of mind that exists
before one becomes sad, worried, angry, happy, or overjoyed.
- Ilwonsang symbolizes the original nature of all buddhas, patriarchs, all other human beings, as well as all sentient beings.
- Ilwonsang symbolizes the ultimate truth of the universe.

There are
two ways to seek this truth. The first is to awaken to the Four Graces, changing resentment into gratitude, which leads to curing the world of moral illness. The second is to follow the Threefold Practice to reach the Right Enlightenment and Right Practice.

The Grace of Heaven and Earth
The Grace of Parents
The Grace of Fellow Being
The Grace of Laws
